How juriswela Came to Be
juriswela was established in Kuala Lumpur by a small group of legal practitioners who shared a common view: that quality legal work should come with clear communication and honest expectations. Each of the founding members had spent years working across different areas of Malaysian law — from regulatory compliance in international trade to property dispute resolution and media-sector advisory.
Rather than building a generalist practice, the decision was made early on to focus on three areas where the team had the most relevant experience and where clients frequently lacked access to informed, attentive legal support. Cross-border trade advisory was a natural fit, given Malaysia's position as a trading hub in Southeast Asia. Strata property law was another area where demand for competent legal guidance had outpaced supply, especially among management corporations and individual parcel owners who found the legislative framework difficult to navigate. The third pillar — sports and entertainment law — reflected a growing need in the Malaysian creative and athletic sectors for professional legal representation.
From our office at Jalan Kia Peng, we serve businesses, property owners, athletes, performers, and organisations across Malaysia and beyond. Our goal has remained consistent: to provide measured, well-prepared legal counsel that respects the client's time and trust.
Our Guiding Principles
What Shapes Our Practice
Candour in Communication
We believe clients deserve direct, honest assessments of their legal position. If the path forward involves difficulty, we say so — along with what can be done about it.
Preparation Over Promises
Every matter we take on is approached with thorough preparation — reviewing documents, understanding regulatory context, and anticipating complications before they surface.
Respect for Every Client
Whether an individual parcel owner or a multinational corporation, every client's concern receives the same level of professional attention and care from our team.

Legal Practice Rooted in Malaysian Law
Operating from the heart of Kuala Lumpur's commercial district, juriswela brings together practitioners with backgrounds in commercial, property, and entertainment law to serve a range of clients with distinct legal needs. Our team's familiarity with Malaysian regulatory bodies — including MITI, MIDA, BNM, MCMC, and the Commissioner of Buildings — allows us to advise with practical awareness of the administrative landscape surrounding each matter.
In cross-border work, we recognise that every transaction sits at the intersection of multiple legal regimes. That is why our approach involves understanding not just the Malaysian position but the broader commercial and regulatory context that our clients face. For strata property owners and management corporations, we offer a grounded understanding of the Strata Titles Act 1985 and Strata Management Act 2013 — legislation that affects the daily lives of thousands of Malaysians. And for those in sports and entertainment, we provide legal support that accounts for the unique dynamics of talent contracts, creative IP, and event regulation.
Our commitment is to the quality and thoughtfulness of the work we do, one matter at a time.
